AUCTION & BIDDING OPTIONS DURING COVID-19

Like you, we’re closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and we will continue to monitor the situation and will follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies. We are all in this together and we respect each and every one of you and your decisions on how you choose to move forward as everything begins to re-open. So, to keep allowing people to enjoy our auctions, we are giving you options. Please read the following options carefully:

OPTION 1 (In-Person Bidding):

If you would like to attend our auction in person, please be advised that Covid-19 guidelines for "Social Distancing" will be in place before, during, and after the auction for all attendees. Since the auction will be held outside, there should be no problem for people to be 6 feet apart. In case of inclement weather, please bring rain gear.

Inspection of the interior of the real estate onsite will be limited to a certain amount of purchasers/bidders at one time, as determined by the auction company, during the inspection period prior to the start of the auction. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in this matter.

This will be a live and an online auction; however, we will have the ability to take bids from you if you choose to remain in your vehicle or via phone. Please call our office (423) 247-3040 if you need to make special arrangements.

OPTION 2 (Facebook Live Bidding):

If you choose not to attend the auction on site, we will simulcast the auction on Facebook Live the day of the sale.

If you would like to participate in bidding on Facebook Live, you can bid in the comments. Please understand that bidding and participating in the Facebook Live auction serves as confirmation of your agreement to the terms and conditions of the auction. [We prefer you read and sign the Online Bidder Agreement Prior to Auction/Bidding.]

If you haven't already, please click the Facebook button to the right -->

and "Like" our page so you will be ready to bid when we go live.

A Live Online Auction is a combination of a Live and Internet Auction. There will be bidders bidding onsite at the Auction or bidders bidding from their computer, tablet, or mobile device. An online clerk will relay the online bids to the Auctioneer and you will bid against onsite bidders who are at the auction and other online bidders. The Auction will be set to live approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of the auction. Then at sale time, the terms and conditions of the sale will be read to the onsite bidders and to the online bidders, as well as any other announcements that need to be made concerning the auction (and shall become a part of the terms and conditions). The terms and conditions being read live are what online bidders have read and agreed to in the Bidder Agreement. Any bidder making fraudulent bids on the site or defaulting on properties won shall be banned from bidding indefinitely without any recourse from the bidder and legal action may be pursued. All bids (whether onsite or online) are considered a legal and binding agreement.

NOTE: It is very IMPORTANT that every Bidder read the terms & conditions BEFORE bidding (either online or live). Each bidder is solely responsible for inspecting this property BEFORE bidding (property is sold as is, where is). All information, prior statements, advertising, handouts, and all printed material on real estate being sold are taken from tax records and other sources deemed reliable but are not guaranteed.

HOW TO BID:

  • Log into Facebook, go to Slater Auction & Realty's Facebook page to the live event 10 minutes prior to the auction.

  • Bids will be made in the comment section of the Facebook Live event.

  • When bids have stopped, a 3 minute timer will begin from the acknowledgement of last bid, to close out the bidding. If any more bids come through (either onsite or online), another 2 minute timer will begin to allow a competing bid until the competitive bidding has stopped and there are no more bids.

  • We will allow up to 20 seconds for "lag time" due to network/internet delays and comments.

  • We are not responsible for bids not received prior to auctioneer announcing the bidding has ended.

BE ADVISED:  Slater Auction & Realty shall not be held liable in any way for any malfunctions, shutdowns, or loss of service. Bidder acknowledges and understands that this service may or may not function correctly. Under no circumstances shall Bidder have any kind of claim against Slater Auction & Realty or anyone else if the internet service fails to work correctly during the auction. Slater Auction & Realty will not be responsible for any missed bids from any source. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with this option may contact our office for other options.
